The corona virus can snatch the joy of becoming a father. A Chinese research has revealed the effect of sperm-producing cells in its genitals. Researchers at Beijing-based Gongi Medical College say that the SARS-Cove-2 virus usually does not infect the genitals of men, but it can cause inflammation in the cells in them, causing their size to deteriorate.
The 'seminiferous tubules' responsible for the production and maintenance of sperms have the greatest side effects of corona, which do not go away even after the patient has recovered from the infection. That is, after recovering and returning home, men may suffer complaints of lack of fertility.
Virus-
detectors found in the genitals of only one infected- investigators examined the tissues present in the genitals of 12 infected with corona infection. During this period, traces of SARS-Cove-2 were found in only one infected genitals. At the same time, in the case of lungs, the presence of virus in ten infected people was recorded.
Changes in 'Sertoli cells' were worrisome
- during microscopic analysis, 'Sertoli cells' showed the highest inflammation in 'seminiferous tubules', ensuring healthy sperm production. This caused the researchers to worry about not producing sperm normally even after the patient was cured.
Avoid bonding even after recovering -
according to research published in 'Journal of European Urology', 'ACE-2' receptors have been found in some cells located in the genitals of men. These are the same receptors that help the virus to attack the lungs. In such a situation, a relationship should be avoided for a few days.
Very low numbers of 'Leydig cells' - 'Leydig cells'
secreting the hormones required for the production of spermatozoa were also found in men struggling with Covid-19. Inadequate oxygen supply may be the main reason. This also affects the action of 'Sertoli cells'.
